About two years ago we moved to the country and I unwittingly found myself surrounded by bugs.
Sometimes, the bugs come inside. Which is fun, because I am irrationally afraid they are going to jump on me and eat my face (or something like that).

It looks innocent enough…
Which leads us to me, trying to save a stick bug from my cats. It’s hard to save something that you are terrified of. Especially since every time you steel your nerves and reach for it a cat bats it at you and as it flies towards you and you freak out and scream and run away before you meet your demise at the hands of a stick with legs. I finally found my zen and reach down and picked the stick bug up. At that same moment, my dog, who I had been ignoring and didn’t even realize was in the room showed up and took advantage of me leaning down and licked me on my face.
So let me break it down for you… the second I reached down to pick up something that I’m afraid is going to eat my face, something attacked my face. I screamed and threw the bug. The cats went crazy over the now flying bug. The dog went crazy as I fell backwards onto my butt and started to try and lick my face off. Spit flew out of my mouth and began dribbling down my face. My kids stood by looking like this:

I don’t even try anymore. I now place any little intruders into their own secure containment system where they wait until one of the children sets them free.

How do you deal with bugs at your house? Let me know in the comments below.
